
Mason Jar Cookie Mix Recipe
Ingredients for the Jar (1 Quart/32 oz Mason Jar):
1 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour (leveled and sifted)
1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
3⁄4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1⁄2 cup rolled oats
1⁄2 cup chopped nuts (optional, e.g., walnuts or pecans)
Instructions for Layering:
Layer 1: In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add this mixture as
the bottom layer in the jar, leveling it with the back of a spoon.
Layer 2: Add the oats, spreading evenly.
Layer 3: Follow with the brown sugar, pressing gently to pack it in.
Layer 4: Add the granulated sugar, ensuring it forms a clear layer.
Layer 5: Add the chocolate chips.
Layer 6: Top with chopped nuts, if desired.
Seal the jar tightly and decorate with a ribbon and a recipe tag.
Get the kids involved pre-scoop each ingredient for the mason-Jar cookie recipe and allow your kids to
